Travel Health
Procedure for Travel Services
- Initial Contact and Inquiry
- Travelers planning to go abroad should contact the clinic well in advance by completing the Admin Query Clinic form. (Please note that each traveller must complete their own Form.)
- A minimum of 6–8 weeks' notice before departure is required to allow sufficient time for preparation and for vaccinations to take effect.
- Travel Risk Assessment
- Upon receiving the inquiry, travelers may be asked to complete a Travel Risk Assessment Form to help our Travel Nurses assess their vaccination and health requirements.
- The assessment will consider factors such as the destination, duration of stay, planned activities, and individual health conditions.
- Appointment Scheduling
- Once the Travel Risk Assessment is reviewed, the clinic will schedule an appointment with a Travel Nurse.
- The appointment will include a consultation and administration of necessary vaccinations.
- Vaccination Services
- The clinic provides certain NHS-funded travel vaccinations free of charge, including:
- Typhoid
- Cholera
- Hepatitis A
- Diphtheria/Tetanus/Polio
- Vaccinations not covered by the NHS, such as Yellow Fever and malaria prophylaxis, must be arranged privately through a local travel clinic.
- Follow-Up and Additional Advice
- Travelers will receive guidance on post-vaccination care and any further health precautions they should take while abroad.
- If booster doses or additional vaccinations are required, follow-up appointments will be scheduled accordingly.
For further details, travelers should consult a Travel Nurse or a private travel clinic for additional services not offered by the NHS.
